About
There is a moment that happens every morning — before the day gets loud — that belongs entirely to you. A cup of coffee in a quiet kitchen. The ritual of it. The small, deliberate act of making something good just for yourself.
That moment is what Morning Rituals is built around.
The Story
My name is Cliff. I am an executive chef and culinary director, and I have spent my career in one of the most demanding corners of the food world: senior living and healthcare food service. Every day, I am responsible for feeding people who have real dietary needs, real preferences, and real stakes. In that world, "good enough" is not a standard — flavor and care are the point.
Over more than a decade in professional kitchens, I tasted thousands of ingredients. I learned how to identify quality — not just by label or price point, but in the cup, on the plate, in the experience of eating and drinking something that was done right.
And then I would go home and make myself a cup of coffee from whatever was in the cabinet, and it was fine. Just fine.
That bothered me more than it probably should have.
Why Coffee
A chef's palate does not turn off at the end of a shift. I started paying more attention to coffee the way I pay attention to any other ingredient: tasting deliberately, asking where it came from, understanding how it was processed, noticing what changes when the variables change.
I worked through hundreds of origins. I tasted coffees from Ethiopia, Colombia, Bali, Peru, Guatemala — and I started to notice what separated a genuinely exceptional cup from a good-looking label.
What I found was that the coffee world has serious, passionate roasters who care deeply about sourcing — and that most coffee drinkers never find them because the discovery process is scattered and overwhelming.
Morning Rituals exists to close that gap.
What We Do
We do not roast coffee ourselves. We do something different: we taste, evaluate, and curate. Every coffee in this collection has been selected using the same standards I apply in a professional kitchen — flavor clarity, ingredient quality, honest provenance.
We work with roasters who share those standards: traceability over buzzwords, processing methods that serve the bean, origins that have genuine flavor stories. When I add a coffee to the collection, it is because it passed a real tasting, not because it looked good on a spec sheet.
The result is a catalog of 50+ coffees — single origins, signature blends, flavored coffees, sample packs, and teas — all curated with a chef's eye for what actually tastes exceptional.
